Vince Gill

Vincent Grant was born on April 12 1957. He was born in Norman, Oklahoma. His father was the one who encouraged him to pursue a career in music. His father himself was a lawyer and a judge as well. His father was J.Stanley Gill. His father once played in a band himself who sang country music.

Vincent's mother was a homemaker and she herself played the harmonica. So one can say that Vincent was influenced and inspired mainly by his own family to pursue a career in music. His father encouraged him to learn to play different musical instruments and devices such as the guitar and banjo.

He later joined Northwest Classen High School after learning to play music. His interest kept increasing day by day as he became a more experienced player.

He gained experience by playing in many bluegrass bands when he was in high school studying. Vince Gill made his national appearance by joining the band Pure Prairie League in the year 1979. This was mainly a rock band. Vince featured on their album as well. Vince also sang the song in the year 1980 titled Let Me Love You Tonight.

Afterwards he began a solo career by signing with RCA Records in 1983. Soon after he shifted to another label MCA Records. He recorded his first greatest hit titled When I Call Your Name. Gill hosted the CMA Awards from 1992-2003. Gill has won many awards such as the Grammy award for Best Male Vocal Performance. He has won numerous awards and got his nineteenth Grammy award for Best Country Album. Also Vincent was inducted into Country Music Hall of Fame in the year 2007. On October 25th 2008 Vincent will create history by being the first performer to perform in Walt Disney Concert Hall. Vincent is a very famous musician as well as a multi-instrumentalist. He has made history by winning nineteen Grammy awards.

On a more personal note Vince got married in the year 1980 to a country singer named Janis Oliver. They had a daughter in 1982. But later on due to personal differences the couple separated in the year 1990 and then eventually filed for divorce in the year 1998. Vince married once again in the year 2000 to pop singer Amy Grant. They also have a daughter and she was born in the year 2001.

Vincent is also a fan of the Nashville Predators and he sang the national anthem for the team for each game. Vince is also a song writer and his duets are a lot in demand. He has won more then 22 million albums worldwide. Vince has also won 18 CMA Awards to add to his collection of nineteen Grammy awards. Vince is an amazing performer and artist and has a beautiful voice. He has a huge fan following and is one of country music biggest star.
