Hanukkah is a very important holiday for Jewish people everywhere. There are many families that celebrate and decorate for Hanukkah. One great way to get the kids involved is to let them make crafts that you can use for Hanukkah decorations. This is a great way for you to spend some quality and fun family time together.
One great craft that kids can do for decorations is the Star of David. You will need to get some aluminum pie plates and then draw a Star of David. This is two triangles one over top the other so that it looks like a star. Then cut out the star. When making this craft you want to work on a scrap of cardboard or a thick pile of newspaper. This will help to protect the area you are working at. Using a hole punch or a large nail you want to make a hole at the top of the star design. This is so you will be able to hang your decoration when it is done. You want to use the nail and make indentations so that your star is decorated. Put some string in the hole at the top of the star.
Another great craft for you to do as a family and have fun with is the marshmallow menorah. You will need to have cardboard, marshmallows, canned frosting, milk, food dye and small birthday candles. You want to use a rectangular cardboard to work on. Then you need to line up 9 marshmallows and start gluing them down with the canned frosting. Put the candles into the marshmallows. These two crafts will be fun to make and will make any kid proud because they were able to make decorations to help celebrate.
