Pancreas in located in the upper abdomen. Pancreas contains glands that are responsible for various body functions like secretion of insulin that controls the sugar level in blood apart from using sugar as a energy source. Pancreas also secretes glands that help in digestion of food. A cancerous growth around pancreas is termed as pancreatic cancer. This disease is considered to be a deadly disease and is considered a silent killer since the disease could hardly be detected till it reaches an advanced stage. Though surgery and chemotherapy are considered the possible treatments for pancreatic cancer, nowadays many alternative pancreatic cancer treatments are available.

The many causes of this deadly disease are smoking, consumption of alcohol and long term presence of diabetic condition. Some of the alternative pancreatic cancer treatments include radiation therapy, green tea.

Radiation therapy: Radiation therapy is a method of treating cancer by allowing high energy x-rays to pass through the cancer cells and thereby sealing the growth of deadly cancer cells. Radiation therapy is usually given along with chemotherapy in the case of this disease. This treatment is completely painless and has to be administered for a period of few weeks.

Green Tea: Researches have proved the capacity of green tea to prevent pancreatic cancer. This tea closes down an important molecule that tobacco depends upon to cause this disease. This drink contains two chemicals named epigallocatechingallate (EGCG) and epigallocatechin (EGC) that are instrumental in the prevention of this cancer. ECG, content in green tea, supports the growth of an enzyme that is useful in the prevention of this disease. Researches have also shown that drinking 4 cups of this tea a day helps to effectively fight cancer.
